Reviews

1.http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/19390-mac-miller-faces/
http://www.theguardian.com/music/2013/jul/02/odd-future-wolf-gang-review

2. The topic of the first review is Mac Miller's latest album "Faces" and how it is a contrast to his previous albums. The topic do the second review is Odd Future's latest album "Wolf" and how the lyrics are uniquely unacceptable.

3. The reviewer's attitude about the Mac Miller album is pleased because he stated "He ended up with the best work of his young career". The reviewer's attitude about the Odd Future album is annoyed. He provides the lyrics that aren't positive as the proof.

4. The negative reviewer's opinion is that Odd Future concerts are too damp to ignite and his fact is that only last month the Australian protest group Collective Stxhout tried to to stop Odd Future from playing in the country because they think that his lyrics are overt. Opinions of the positive review is that "Faces" is Mac Miller’s high watermark and Mac Miller is finally able to play ball with his esteemed rap friends. A fact is the album has 24 tracks run nearly an hour and a half that go back in for in the tone and mood.

5. I agree with the positive review because the album comes together well and it shows in the sells, but I do not agree with the negative review because to understand the music you would have to have background information on the artists and the reasons why they wrote the lyrics and the reviewed focused solely on the album itself.

Written Editorials vs. Cartoons

Blog #7

1. The Charlotte Observer teased Cam Newton through an editorial cartoon of him performing his famous Superman touchdown celebration only to reveal a Hello Kitty logo on his chest.

2. The written editorial explains when, where, what happened and the exposure since the cartoon and the cartoon illustrates Newton in the act. It also gives comments and opinions from others. The author thinks that the cartoon is not helping Newton move on and the cartoonist thinks that the idea is humorous.

3. The editorials are alike because they both entertain and joke about Newton. The editorials are different because the written editorial criticizes Newton while the cartoon just illustrates the subject.

4. The written editorial is more effective at proving its' point because it explains the topic, criticizes Newton and includes the views of others so we get a full description of the action.

5. The benefit of drawing a cartoon vs. a written editorial is that the idea can be seen to get a good understanding of the topic, but it can't give details or quotes that are important in getting the full idea of the topic.

Dupree Hart: Life as an Athlete

If you don't know why a helicopter landed at Northwestern recently it's because of an athlete named Dupree Hart. He won athlete of the year and has went to all-state 3 years in baseball. Hart was born on November 7th, 1998. Hart started playing football when he was 7 years old, playing pee-wee at Sunset Park Elementary. A lot of practice and hard work led Hart to where he is today. Hart would describe his schedule as very busy. Hart spends 20 hours a week on football, has a job at the YMCA in Rock Hill, South Carolina and still finds time to hang out with his friends.

Hart has 317 catches and 92 touchdowns in his football career. Hart's favorite thing about football is making friends. "My team is competitive and funny," stated Hart. Hart's favorite coach is coach Richardson because he's funny. They often make jokes about each other's hair. Hart's favorite game to play in was versus Byrnes in 2013 and his best football memory was winning state in 2013. This was a victorious year for the Northwestern Trojans.

You probably thought that Hart is continuing his football career on to college, but no. Hart has decided to play baseball for the College of Charleston after high school. He plays for the Trojans currently and it is where his heart is. Going to all-state for 3 years is a great achievement. Something else people don't know about Hart is that he plays the piano! Where is all this inspiration coming from? Hart said that his parents are his biggest supporters in life and he wouldn't be where he is today without them.
